 A brief Report
On
The journey to Kerala and its neighboring states of India


I am H. Nirendra Singha. This is a brief report of my journey towards Kerala state under the scheme of traveling grant to the young authors.

  1. I received a letter from Sahitya Akademi with reference no.  SAE.124(TG)/08-09/16542, dated 08-12-2008 as traveling grant to the young authors.
  2. I gave my signature on the acceptance paper on 20-12-2009.
  3. I received a draft (SBI, draft no. 696010 dated 12th Jan, 2009) of Rs 10,000 (ten thousand only) under the reference no. SAE.124/TG/2008-09/18203, dated 13-01-2009.
  4. I selected Kerala and started my journey from 23-02-2009 and reach thirubananthapuram on 28-02-1009.
a.       I went to a hotel (Sahara hotel) and took some rest.
b.      I visit to Padmanavaswami Temple.
c.       By reserving an Auto Rickshaw and roaming around the city.










  1. On 01-03-2009, I went to Thrissur
  2. On 02-03-2009 I visit Kerala Sahitya Akademi
a.       Introduced myself with Rajendran K, the Librarian
b.      Meeting with Veishakhan, well-known short-story writer
c.       Meeting with Vergeese Antony, the young poet of 45; Vijesh Edakinny, young poet, P. Selim Raj, young poet and office staff of K S A publication Wing and Benny T P, the programme Co-ordinator.
d.      Meeting with Attor Ravi Varma, the National Sahitya Academi Awardee
e.       Going to Vadakunnathana Temple and Vadakkechina (Northern pond)









  1. On 03-03-2009
a.       I enjoyed the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Book Fair.
b.      Visited the Archeological Museum at Thrissur
c.       Meeting with Anwar Ali, the young poet.
  1. I went Ernakulam on 04-03-2009 and
a.       Visited Maharaja College, one of the oldest College of Kerala state. The College has the P G courses also. The Malayalam Department have 20 students in each year.
b.      There I have a meeting with Joshep, Selvamony, the young poets (also the lecturers of the College, Malayalam Department) and G Ushakumari, (She is also a lecturer) the young Feminist Critic.
c.       I deliver a lecture to the P G Class of about the Manipuri Language Literature, Art and Culture.
d.      Interaction with the P G Students (Malayalam) and teachers.
e.       Read out a poem
f.       Going to Mulanthuruthy Public Library
g.      Participating the Poets meet and read out a poem
  1. I went Cochin on 05-03-2009
a.       Spent time to the Cherai Sea Beach, The Princess of the Arabian sea”.
b.      Visit the Bolgatti Palace
  1. On 06-03-2009 I return back to Thiruvananthapuram and meeting with C G Rajagopal, the poet.
  2. On 07-03-2009, I went to Kanyakumari and visit Vivekanandapuram
  3. On 08-03-2009 I visit
a.       the Vivekananda Memorial Rock
b.      the Thiruvallar Statue and spent time their
c.       enjoy the beauty of triveny Sangam (meeting of three sea)
  1. On 09-03-2009 Returning back to Thiruvananthapuram and
a.       Going to Kovalam Beach
b.      Climb the Light House Tower
c.       Visiting the the D C Books
  1. On 10-03-2009
a.       Enjoying the Attukkal Puja
b.      Went to Bangalore
  1. On 11-03-2009, I went Bangalore to mysore. In Mysore I visited Central Institute of Indian Languages. I visit and enjoyed the Maharaja Palace and the Brindabana Garden (KRS Park).
  2. On 12-03-2009, I return back from Mysore to Bangalore and got my train to Guwahati and I reach home at 16 03-2009.
